GTA London 1969 Mod Arrives For GTA IV

Fans of Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto from way back in the day probably remember a little total conversion expansion for the very first GTA called GTA London 1969. The expansion pack was quite popular and even found its way onto the PSX back in the day. Well, thanks to some dedicated modders GTA London 1969 has been faithfully recreated and ported into the RAGE runtime for GTA IV.

I think it's absolutely clever that Rockstar was savvy enough to implement an old-school “classic” view in GTA EFLC to allow gamers to view the action from a birds' eye just like in the original 1997 release. Couple in birdseye view with the original map, texture and model layout of GTA London 1969 and you have yourself a faithful recreation of the classic expansion for the original GTA.

While the total conversion mod has been in the works for almost a year, the latest progress is showing pretty much 1:1 representation of the original release, which is a great feat in itself.

The GTA London 1969 total conversion mod is out and about, just like the Back to the Future mod, or the Batman Injustice: Gods Among Us mod or the incredibly cool Iron Man mods.

If you don't have a good gaming PC, the good news is that GTA V is at least launching in a few months for the Xbox 360 and PS3. If you do have a good PC, you can visit a site like GTA Gaming to get the latest and the most awesome mods available to the public.
