Nintendo Weekly Releases Include Wii Fit U Demo, Lego Marvel Super Heroes

It’s Friday, which means it is once again time to take a gander at the latest batch of content making its way to the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, including an exercise game demo, a game featuring heroes made out of plastic bricks, and even a stroll down memory lane, ending in front of Dracula’s castle.

Fans of the Wii Fit games can enjoy a bite-sized chunk of what the latest title in the series has to offer with a trial version of Wii Fit U on the Nintendo eShop this week.

“With Wii Fit U, you can create fitness routines, review progress and compare with friends in online Gym Communities and Miiverse,” reads a statement from Nintendo. “Shape up with more than 70 fun activities, from new ones using the Wii U GamePad controller to Wii Fit favorites.”

For continuing players, the Wii U version of the game uses the same balance board as the regular Wii version, so you only need to get the new game and not a new peripheral if you’re a returning player. The demo will be available for 31 days. You can then “purchase and sync a Fit Meter ($19.99)” to continue playing the game for as long as you like.

Also arriving on the eShop this week is the Wii U and 3DS versions of Lego Marvel Super Heroes, the latest in the build-it-yourself action adventure series everyone knows and loves, this time featuring a brand new story set within the Marvel universe and starring characters like Wolverine, Spider-Man, Iron Man and the Hulk.

A pair of new games arrive on the Virtual Console this week, too, including one for the Wii U and one for the 3DS. On the home console front, Wii U gamers can sink their fangs into Super Castlevania IV this week, an SNES classic from 1991 putting players in the role of Simon Belmont as he battles the forces of darkness on a quest to rid the world of the ultimate evil, Dracula. For those playing on the go, the 3DS Virtual Console is getting Milon’s Secret Castle, an NES title tasking the player with exploring a maze-like castle and defeating monsters along the way.

For those looking ot save a little money this week, Shin Megami Tensei IV will be on sale for 10 bucks off from Nov. 4-11, and BIT.TRIP Presents…Runner 2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien will be discounted by 33 percent starting today, Nov. 1, through early morning Nov. 7.

A bunch of other smaller titles are arriving on the eShop this week, including Ben 10 Omniverse 2 for the Wii U and 3DS. The 3DS will also get its tiny hands on Arcade Classics 3D, Beyblade Evolution, Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures, Saban’s Power Rangers Megaforce and Angry Bunnies.
