THQ is scheduling one of its biggest releases for the sleepy summer months. Red Faction: Armageddon will be available starting in May.
Armageddon's North American debut will take place on May 31st. The European launch will follow on June 3rd. These dates apply to the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC versions. Predecessor Red Faction: Guerrilla was released for consoles first and then for the PC months later.
Armageddon takes place fifty years after Guerrilla. The residents of Mars are forced to live underground after a meteor renders the surface uninhabitable. The mining tunnels below Mars prove no better, though, once a vicious alien race is woken from its slumber.
