Shadow Warrior Announced For PC, PS4, New Trailer Released
Devolver Digital and Flying Wild Hog have announced that the classic first-person shooter from the golden age of gaming is making a return to form for new generation PCs and next-generation home consoles. Yes, Shadow Warrior is back and bigger, badder and Lo Wangier than ever.
As noted in the press release...
Lo Wang was a real kick butt ninja-type assassin warrior from way back in the day. He was just as funny as Serious Sam but equally as dangerous as Doom Guy. Lo Wang also had a way with the ladies that would make Duke Nukem jealous if he were capable of such a feat. And oh boy, Wang's arsenal was comprised of weapons that any thug from Grand Theft Auto would feel right at home with, and any ninja from Tenchu would want in their possession.
I really like the old Hong Kong exploitation schtick they're working with in the teaser trailer. It's a neat touch for a game that's probably going to best be served with a presentation that doesn't take itself too seriously.
As for the actual shooting and action...I suspect that the game is in good hands. Hard Reset was a true-to-form old-school shooter for the new generation of gamer and if Flying Wild Hog takes that same approach with Shadow Warrior, the game shouldn't have too much of a problem finding a decent sized audience.
You can check out the new screenshots for the game below. The game will be made available on PC, PS4 and presumably the Xbox Infinity once Microsoft announces the console. For more info on the game feel free to visit the official website
