Writer/director Noah Baumbach has already assembled a tremendously talented ensemble for his next film, While We're Young. Ben Stiller, who previously worked with the filmmaker on 2010's Greenberg; Adam Driver, who is featured in Baumbach's Francis Ha, and Naomi Watts are all already on-board, but now The Wrap is reporting that Amanda Seyfried is now in talks to sign on as well.
According to the report, the Les Miserables star has been targeted for the project for a few weeks, but now some room has opened up in her shooting schedule. Should she sign on she will star as Driver's girlfriend in the movie who enjoys making homemade ice cream. Set to be both written and directed by Baumbach, the film features Stiller and Watts as a married couple who "[strike] up an unlikely friendship with a free-spirited younger couple."
The source notes that Seyfried's role was originally going to be played by Greenberg and Francis Ha star Greta Gerwig. The project has actually been in development for years now and at various points had actors like James Franco, Cate Blanchett and Jesse Eisenberg attached.
Seyfried will actually be back in theaters this weekend lending her voice to an animated character in Epic, but also just recently starred in The Big Wedding with Robert De Niro and Diane Keaton. At Sundance this year she starred in the Linda Lovelace biopic Lovelace, but that film is still awaiting release. She is currently working on Seth MacFarlane's comedy western A Million Ways To Die In The West.
