When I spoke with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige a few weeks ago, he told me that not only does he cheer for his own movies at the box office, but comic book movies in general. "There are a lot of comic books that aren’t Marvel, and those obviously we have nothing to do with, no control, but I will tell you that I root for every single one," Feige said. "A) because as a fan I really want to see a cool movie, and B) because people tend to love the comic book genre all together, so the success or failure of a DC property or another company’s property can impact – not necessarily our box office or anything, but our perception."

Right now, though, it's The Avengers that is clearing a path for the superhero movies of 2012. The film, only in its fourth week of domestic distribution, has become the fourth highest grossing film in American box office history with a pull of $523 million, and while the movie was bumped out of the number one spot this past weekend by Men in Black 3, it still managed to make an incredible $46.8 million in the last three days. It spells great news for the rest of the comic book movies that will be coming out this summer, as people now want to see superheros more than ever, and above all that means very good news for The Amazing Spider-Man.

With a month to go before the release date, The Amazing Spider-Man has been hard at work getting its name out there and today we have a brand new international trailer that comes to us courtesy of Trailer Addict. Check it out!

The Amazing Spider-Man, directed by Marc Webb, stars Andrew Garfield as the titular web-swinging hero. The movie goes back to tell the untold origin of Spider-Man, his relationship with Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone), his battle with The Lizard (Rhys Ifans) and his mission to figure out the answer to the greatest question of his life: what happened to his parents? Martin Sheen, Sally Field, Denis Leary, Julianne Nicholson, Campbell Scott, Annie Parisse, Irrfan Khan, Miles Elliot, and Charlie DePew. The movie hits on July 3rd and you can see more from it in our Blend Film Database.
