It’s fun to debunk a rumor that nobody really believed anyway. If you were thinking of who might play the mighty Marvel strongman Thor in a movie who would you picture? Daniel Craig? No, of course not, that would be silly. Now we have confirmation that it is indeed silly, although not as silly as you might think.
Craig is out doing press for Quantum of Solace, the upcoming Bond film, and was interviewed by IESB. They said they heard he was up for the lead role in Thor and asked if he was going to do it. Shockingly, he said he’d been offered the role! Picture me drinking coffee and then spitting it on my computer screen. He also said that he turned it down, showing Craig has more sense than Thor’s producers.
Craig noted jokingly that, “it would have been too much of a power trip, both Bond and Thor, and running around with long hair and a hammer.” Not to mention that Thor is one of those big, big guys and Craig is not. So add Craig to a list that also contains myself, Martin Lawrence, and Jessica Simpson in people who will not be playing Thor in the movie.
