Dark Knight Score Back In The Running For Oscar

Great news for The Dark Knight. The movie’s amazing score is back in the running for an Oscar.

Last month we learned that the Academy intended to disqualify the movie’s music, for what can only be classified as vague and nebulous reasons. They claimed too many people were listed as composers on the film’s cue sheet. Three of the five people listed signed affidavits stating that the score was primarily the work of the other two, but at the time the Academy didn’t seem inclined to liten.

Now according to Variety they’ve changed their mind. The Music Branch Executive Committee of the Academy has reversed its decision. Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard will be the only two credited with the score and the music is once again eligible for an Oscar nomination. I’m betting on an easy win.
