Darth Vader Is A Ukrainian Political Candidate, Watch His Epic Campaign Video

Would you vote Darth Vader into office? That’s the question that Ukrainian voters currently have to contend with. To help them make their decision a rather incredible campaign advertisement from The Ukrainian Internet Party has just been released to promote their candidate, who just so happens to be a guy dressed like Darth Vader. You can watch it below. It’s freaky.

How can you not be convinced of the man’s political acumen after you’ve seen him play the Imperial March on a traditional Ukrainian instrument in front of a tree and a horse?

According to The Huffington Post, candidate Darth V. Vader is currently running for a seat in the Ukrainian Parliamentary elections, which will be held on October 26, and he is a walking talking homage to the former Jedi.

However, if you’re a Ukrainian Star Wars fan that doesn’t really want to vote into power a Sith lord who has been filmed destroying planets and going to great lengths to try and kill his own children, you’re in luck because Chewbacca is also vying for a seat in the country’s parliament. In fact various advertisements for the ambitious Wookiee, who now goes by the name Stepan Chubakka, have even started to appear across Kiev in support of his pursuit. You can check out one of them below, which sees Chewwie looking pretty mad.

But if you’re after someone who isn’t as evil as Darth Vader or as furry as Chewbacca but is still Star Wars related then there are allegedly 14 other registered candidates from the galaxy far, far away that you can consider too, including Master Volodymyroych Yoda, Emperor Viktorovych Palpatine, Master V. Yoda, and Padme N. Amidala.

Darth Vader’s likeness has been used several times over the last few years by Ukrainian political activists, who have used the Star Wars icon in their various political stunts that have been designed to try and sabotage votes. It’s at times like these that you can’t help but be grateful we live in an era where deed poll exists.
