For someone with a last chance, Harvey certainly is getting a hell of a shot. A hodgepodge of new names have been added to the cast of Last Chance Harvey, a romantic drama that already had Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson to brag about.
The Overture Films production is about Harvey (Hoffman), a down-on-his-luck jingle writer in New York attending his daughter’s wedding in London where he encounters a new woman. Thompson plays a bureaucrat that becomes romantically involved with Harvey. Nowm according to The Hollywood Reporter, the duo have been joined by Kathy Baker (Picket Fences), who will play Harvey’s ex-wife, James Brolin (Hotel), who will play her new husband, Eileen Atkins (Gosford Park), who plays Thompson’s overbearing mother, Richard Schiff (The West Wing), who plays Harvey’s boss, and Liane Balaban (The Wisher), the daughter who brings all of the characters together into one place.
These names are being tacked on at the last minute, as the production begins filming in and around London Monday, October 1st. Joel Hopkins writes and directs.
