Frank Coraci Scores Hawaiian Dick

After the Natalie Holloway case, it’s hard not to think of her name when you hear about an island girl gone missing. However, Hollywood hopes you will put aside that correlation and fork over cash for a missing girl flick while eating a king size box of Goobers.

According to Hollywood Reporter, New Line Cinema is releasing a movie called Hawaiian Dick, based on a 2002 comic by B. Clay Moore and Steven Griffin. The script is penned by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift, and it will be produced by Craig Perry and Jim Strader. Johnny Knoxville was at one time attached to the project, but luckily he got sidetracked by bedroom shenanigans with Jessica Simpson and jumped ship.

Hawaiian Dick, directed by Frank Coraci (Around The World In 80 Days), is a supernatural thriller about a down-on-his-luck detective in Hawaii, circa 1953. He finds himself involved in a kidnapping case of a local island girl who turns up dead, but won’t stay that way.

Huh, what does that mean? Don’t ask me, I just report these things.
