Jekyll And Hyde Remakes Getting Worse And Worse

So a few days ago when we reported that Keanu Reeves would be starring as both Jekyll and Hyde in a reboot of the classic Robert Louis Stevenson story, you thought, "God, there is no one I would less rather see in this part." It's OK, I thought it too.

But it turns out we were wrong! Because Bad Lieutenant director Abel Ferrara has come up with an even worse way to handle the story, namely casting Forest Whitaker and 50 Cent-- who look nothing alike--as the titular duo. This is for real. Variety writes that the story will be set in the present and called Jekyll and Hyde, but will follow the same basic plot of a doctor unleashing his violent alter ego thanks to a magic potion.

The independent production is being handled by Glasshouse Pictures and Cheetah Vision Films, with international sales handled by Independent. There has got to be some brave soul out there who will pay a bunch of money for this project and then bury it deep, deep in the earth, so we can all pretend this never happened. Forest Whitaker, we'll forgive you for it-- you've given us enough to appreciate. But 50 Cent, sorry, this might put you on the blacklist for good.
