Kevin Bacon Will Make Elephants The New Vampires

Are elephants the new vampires? Earlier today we told you about Christoph Waltz’s plan to terrorize circus animals in Water for Elephants and now THR is reporting that Millennium Films has found a director for Elephant White, Prachya Pinkaew. The action thriller will be the Ong-bak director’s first English-language film.

Pinkaew will be working with Djimon Hounsou and Kevin Bacon to bring Kevin Bernhardt’s screenplay to life. Hounsou plays a mercenary and Bacon an old friend with questionable motives. Filming kicks off in Thailand on March 8th.

The brief synopsis doesn’t mention the inclusion of any elephants, but between the film’s title and the fact that elephants are a national symbol of the shooting location, I’d say Hounsou and Bacon will be in some rather large company. Pinkaew hails from Thailand so even though he’ll be treading on new territory this being his first English film, he’ll find comfort in his surroundings.
