This Kid's Transformers Birthday Cake Is The Coolest Dessert Ever

Remember the joy that eating a cake used to bring you as kid? That’s not to say that each of every one of us doesn’t still dabble in nibbling a quick slice or three now that we’re a bit older. It’s just that you can’t help but feel guilty when you do. However, if I was to be presented with the same spectacular Transformers cake as below, I think the overwhelming feeling of childish joy would soon return to me:

OK, there’s an awful lot to love about this video, which was uploaded to YouTube by Russell Munro, who clearly just couldn’t help but show off his culinary/mechanical master class. And the internet has responded rather euphorically to it too, as it has since been watched close to 140,000 times since it was uploaded earlier this week.

In the description for his YouTube video, Russell explains, "My boy asked for a Transformers cake for his 6th birthday. I decided to up the ante, my wife did the actual cake."

Now, I’m not sure if that means that Russell’s wife had to bake a cake around a small engine that then allowed it to stand up straight, or if Russell waited for her to finish baking before then somehow placing his mechanism into it. Either way, I have to admit it doesn’t sound too healthy.

But, that doesn’t matter because, simply put, this cake is awesome. In fact, it’s already up there for probably the best birthday cake that I’ve ever seen. And that’s without tasting it. But even if it tasted like Bumblee’s tailpipe after a battle with Megatron, I still think it would be up there though. Especially since, well, just look at in all of its glory. It's got Optimus Prime's head!

Not only did Russell somehow manage to get the cake to stand up on its two hind wheels, but he also installed a voice box that featured Peter Cullen, the voice of Optimus Prime, sprouting off some words of wisdom as the character.

And while I can’t help but feel warmed by the hoard of kids who were spell-bound by the seemingly transforming cake, my favorite person in the whole clip was the mother. Because while everyone was completely entranced by the moving dessert in front of them, she was just worried about it toppling over and ruining her son’s birthday party. What a woman.
