Liv Tyler Picks Up Strangers

Actress Liv Tyler, last seen in the indie flick Lonesome Jim as a promiscuous nurse, has signed up for a suburban suspense thriller called Strangers. In the film, she will play a married woman chilling at her house, when three masked strangers break in and wreak havoc.

According to Hollywood Reporter, Bryan Bertino, a relative newbie to behind-the-scenes work, will write and direct for Rogue Pictures. Casting is still on the fence for the role of the husband and the pillaging home invaders. Mel Gibson might be desperately looking for work soon, so maybe he can pull a few strings in the casting department.

Tyler’s biggest film series is Lord Of The Rings, but she’s been popping up here and there in smaller projects. She recently wrapped up shooting Mike Binder’s 9/11 movie (is everyone making one of these, nowadays?) called Empty City. Strangers will begin shooting in the fall and is scheduled for an October 2007 release.
