Some might say I’m a big hypocrite when it comes to chastising actors for taking so-called paycheck roles, but I firmly believe there's a difference between an A-list actor choosing horrid projects and a supporting actor ending up in horrid projects. When Jim Carrey makes a bad movie, I point the finger at him; when Luis Guzman makes a bad movie, I say, well, a man’s gotta support his family. Knowing this, I will now defend Luis Guzman by saying the man has to support his family.

According to THR, Guzman has just agreed to join Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Josh Hutcherson, Michael Caine and Vanessa Hudgens in the upcoming sequel to Journey To The Center Of The Earth entitled Journey 2: The Mysterious Island. The new picture, based on the Jules Verne work The Mysterious Island will see Johnson and Hutcherson, reprising his role from the first installment, travel to a creepy forbidden island in search of Caine, who play's Hutcherson's grandfather. Guzman will play the boat captain who takes the men to the island and Hudgens will play Guzman’s daughter. Why Michael Caine decided to get involved is anyone’s guess.

Having already begun production in Hawaii, Journey 2 is set to be released on September 23 next year.
