Producer Talks About More Kill Bill

Quentin Tarantino likes to talk about movies. He likes to talk about movies he’s seen. He likes to talk about movies he’s made. He even likes to talk about movies he hasn’t made yet but wants to make and movies he will never make. Just off the top of my head I can recall him talking about a Vega Brothers movie following characters from Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs, animated Kill Bill prequels, Glorious Bastards, and follow ups to Grindhouse. But talk is cheap, right?

For instance, we know pretty well that the Weinstein Company isn’t going to hear any more Grindhouse talk any time soon. After all, the epic lost a ton of money earlier this year. Tarantino himself has come forward and said Vega Brothers probably isn’t going to happen just due to scheduling and actors getting older and older (making it hard for a film to be a prequel for their deceased characters). As for the rest, who knows, but one of the executive producers for Kill Bill seems to think that’s one franchise that’s not dead yet.

Bennett Walsh, the aforementioned producer, seems to think Tarantino will do more than just animated prequels for his Bride’s tale. He spoke to Chinese Radio International (CRIEnglish.com) last week about the possibility of two more movies. That’s right - Kill Bill Vol. 3 and Kill Bill Vol. 4. In fact, Walsh even went so far as to share plot details with CRI.

It seems the follow up pictures would continue a thirst for vengeance, but instead of following The Bride, the movies would follow characters seeing vengeance against the Bride. The third volume would involve the revenge of two killers whose arms and eyes were hacked by the Bride. Really? So the movie would be about two partially blind people with severed limbs who want to take on a kick-ass assassin? Sounds like a short movie to me.

The fourth volume would follow the cycle of revenge of daughters avenging their mother’s deaths. Tarantino said before that he wanted to follow Vivica A. Fox’s character’s daughter later on with a follow up story, so perhaps this is part of that. She can kill the Bride, the Bride’s daughter can kill her, and so on and so forth.

Walsh was discussing the movies as a possibility that Tarantino would be filming in China again. However, Tarantino does like to talk. I think JoBlo said it best when they stated that we shouldn’t get too excited until we actually see a press release straight from the Weinstein Company. Until then, this is all just talk.
