Sex And The City Movie Scripted

Sex and the City movie rumors are nothing new. They’ve been floating around since even before the popular television series went off the air. But it’s never really gone anywhere. The girls never seem to get along, or they can’t get a script, or things just never come together. It’s never moved beyond just idle chatter.
But this time, perhaps they’re actually working on it. Our friend Richard over at FilmStalker has picked up an interview with actor Mario Cantone from Worst Previews which says that a Sex and the City movie script is being written.
Cantone played the character Anthony Marantino on the show, and while I’ve seen a lot of episodes, I’m not a fan and so have absolutely know idea who that character is. Presumably he’s someone significant, you ‘Sex’ fans feel free to clue me in via the comment section below.
Anyway, Cantone says that while there is nothing definitive yet, “I know the script is being written and I know it will be brilliant because Michael Patrick King is writing it. I know that I'm in it. I have a nice part in it, I'm told. If it happens, we should film it in the early fall I think, but I hope it stays on course because I would love to do it.” Actually, that sounds pretty definitive. King wrote, directed, and produced on the series. If a script is being written by him, then it either means that things are lining up for the film to actually happen… or he’s writing the script in the hopes that it will be good enough to convince his cast to get involved.
