Tom Cruise Attached To Sci-Fi Drama Our Name Is Adam

Tom Cruise seems to be on a bit of a sci-fi kick of late, having recently finished production on Joseph Kosinski’s Oblivion and just recently starting work on Doug Liman’s All You Need Is Kill, but he’s already prepared to add another title to his genre collection. The Minority Report star is currently attached to star in Our Name Is Adam a new project based on an original script by T.S. Nowlin. Mary Parent, who is currently producing Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim is signed on as well.

Variety says that the plot is currently being kept a secret. Nowlin wrote the script on spec and currently has no produced credits, but is known for writing the script for Agent 13. That script has Rise of the Planet of the Apes helmer Rupert Wyatt set to direct and Charlize Theron on to star.

With the rate that Cruise is picking up projects it’s worth questioning if he’ll ever have time to make all of them. In addition to the two aforementioned sci-fi movies, the Academy Award nominated actor is slated for a Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol sequel, a remake of The Magnificent Seven, and the Van Helsing reboot. He will next be seen starring as the titular character in Christopher McQuarrie’s Jack Reacher, an adaptation of the book “One Shot” by Lee Childs. That film is being distributed by Paramount Pictures and will be in theaters on Christmas Day. Read more about the movie in our Blend Film Database.
