Given that Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk won’t be appearing in Joe and Anthony Russo’s Captain America: Civil War it may be a while before we get to see him interact with Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man on the big screen. That being said, if you’re curious what that relationship would look like, you just need to watch the brand new Coke commercial that aired during the Super Bowl today:

It doesn’t appear as though the folks at Coca-Cola were able to wrangle Mark Ruffalo for a cameo in this fun little superhero-filled spot, but that’s definitely Paul Rudd providing the voice of the can-heisting Scott Lang, and the people behind the making of the commercial deserve a good deal of credit for representing the two Marvel heroes pretty fantastically. What we see in the spot is very clearly the same Ant-Man from the solo movie last July:

And the rendering of everybody’s favorite giant green goliath is pretty phenomenal for a one minute spot:

It’s well-known that advertisers pull out all of the stops when it comes to spots that will air during the Super Bowl (the time does cost an outrageous amount, after all), and Coca-Cola did just that with this ad. Ant-Man and Hulk are both part of one of the biggest franchises going right now, and this bit of comic book-inspired fun should get a lot of attention and get looked at as one of the better commercials of the night.

So when will we get to see Ant-Man and Hulk on screen together within the continuity of the Marvel Cinematic Universe? It’s hard to say exactly, given that Marvel is constantly surprising us with strange cameos in their movies, but the safe bet is probably Joe and Anthony Russo’s The Avengers: Infinity War – Part 1 in 2018. Of course, we’ll be able to see both characters individually between now and then. Ant-Man be appearing in this summer’s Captain America: Civil War, and Hulk will be teaming up with the God of Thunder in 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok.
