Will Wolverine Face Off With T-Bag?

The Wolverine spin-off is one of those movies that’s supposed to be moving forward despite the current writer’s strike. Of course, some of the key actors are already in place with Hugh Jackman continuing to hold the title role and Brian Cox reportedly reprising X-Men United villain William Stryker. It appears more players are being added to the mix however.

Filmonic caught the words in a Denver Post article about actor Robert Knepper. The actor has risen to fame thanks to Prison Break as the psychotic T-Bag and puts in an appearance in this week’s Hitman. While the bulk of the article talks about his current work, there is one part of interest to the X-Men crowd: ”[Knepper] is rumored to be playing the next Bond villain, co-starring with Hugh Jackman in the X-Men spinoff Wolverine and starring in a remake of Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (1963).

So who would Knepper play? Standing at 5’9”, it’s hard to imagine the actor playing a major part, like Logan’s nemesis Sabertooth, one of the few confirmed characters for the movie. There’s just not enough information about the film’s story or characters to make a solid guess for any other characters, so I’ll just go wild on a guess. Knepper has a slight resemblance to Ray Park in some of his publicity pictures. Is it possible he’s taking the mantle of Toad, who really has nothing to do with Wolverine but tagged alongside Sabertooth in the first X-Men film.

Until we know more about Wolverine, Knepper’s involvement is just speculation based upon a rumor anyway.
