X-Files To Shoot In December

Scully and Mulder are back. Well, not quite yet, but X-Files 2 is closer to fruition than it was a few months ago. It’s been ten years since the first film and six years since the last episode aired. I guess that outlandish gap has built the suspense and heightened the tension, but I’m not really sure if the cast members will even be alive for round three in 2018. No, none of them have cancer or worse the bird flu, but anything can happen in a decade. If you don’t believe me, just ask Charles Nelson Reilly or Gerald Ford.

According to MovieWeb, David Duchovny would like to see the X-Files turned into a movie franchise. He went on to say, “I never really wanted the show to die or to quit it. I got tired of the grind of making a network television show but I never tired of the character or the possibilities of the show.” Reportedly, the film will begin shooting in December. That would probably set up a summer or late fall release date.
