The production of Relativity's remake of The Crow has certainly seen its ups and downs over the years. Actors and directors have joined and left the project more times than we can remember, to the point where it seems like this project is never going to get off the ground. The latest actor rumored to be taking on the title role is Jason Momoa, who fans will know as Khal Drogo from Game of Thrones and the new Aquaman. Now we've got some fan art showing what the actor would look like as Eric Draven.
This piece of fanart comes from graphic artist BossLogic (via Comicbook.com) who has made a name for himself imagining actors as different comic book characters. He's done everybody from Kyle Chandler as Cable to Anna Kendrick as Squirrel Girl. Now he's turned his sights on what might be the final actor to attach himself to The Crow remake. Momoa certainly looks scary, with dry, flaky skin and the long black hair. It should definitely help anyone who was having trouble visualizing Momoa in the role.
For those who may not know, The Crow was a cult classic comic book created by James O'Barr that was adapted into a movie in 1994. The film followed Eric Draven, who was unjustly murdered and then brought back to life so that he could exact revenge from his killers. The lead actor, Brandon Lee, famously died on set from a defective blank eight days before production was to wrap.
There has always been chatter of a The Crow remake, with the names of several notable actors rumored to have been involved at one point or another. Tom Hiddleston and Alexander Skarsgard were both in talks to take on the lead role, but nothing ever came of it. Perhaps the most notable actor to be attached to the film was Luke Evans, who eventually had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts in 2015. Then Jack Huston stepped up to plate before the production halted due to bankruptcy. Now Jason Momoa could be the missing piece of the puzzle with Colin Hardy attached to direct.
Jason Momoa was first rumored to be involved with the project when the Aquaman actor posted a picture on Instagram of himself and Colin Hardy with the hashtag #sealthedeal. Considering The Crow is the only movie Hardy is currently involved in, it's not much of a leap to assume the post was about meeting for The Crow. While most fans are probably feeling a little burnt out from the stop and go nature of the production, this might be the final step to an actual movie getting made.
It's anyone's guess if The Crow is actually happening but be sure to keep it here at CinemaBlend where we'll keep you updated with more information as it becomes available.
