What Patrick Wilson Could Look Like In The Aquaman Movie

Aquaman doesn't have as large a rogues gallery as Batman or The Flash, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have some compelling antagonists. One of those folks is his half-brother Orm, a.k.a. Ocean Master. On Monday, it was announced that Watchmen star Patrick Wilson will play Orm in the upcoming Aquaman movie, and although it will be a while until director James Wan unveils a first look of Wilson in the role, one artist has shown how he thinks the onetime Nite Owl could look as the sinister Atlantean.

Online artist BossLogic has put his photo-realistic style to work again to provide fans his version of what Patrick Wilson will look like as Ocean Master. Costume-wise, the look is on point, as he's garbed in Atlantean battle gear and poised to use his mighty trident. Even though the mask covers half of Wilson's face, he looks quite cool as an Orm who has come straight from the ocean and is preparing to terrorize surface dwellers. Even if Wilson's Ocean Master costume ends up looking radically different, this was a damn good guess

Later on, BossLogic also posted a "full masked" version of Patrick Wilson as Orm. For those who notice the helmet's resemblance to H.P. Lovecraft's creation Cthulhu, the artist maintains that the similarity was "unintentional."

Aside from Orm's genetic connection with Aquaman being retained (they share the same mother), there's no information yet on what to expect from Patrick Wilson's Ocean Master. He'll presumably try to seize for the Atlantean throne for himself like his comic book counterpart frequently does, the question is how he'll go about doing this. Orm and Aquaman have clashed plenty of times in the comics, but it's possible that in the movie, the former may be more of a schemer who's working from the shadows to overthrow the latter. It's more likely, though, that the cinematic Orm will have the brawn to match his brains, and when the movie's climax rolls around, Orm and Arthur Curry (as Aquaman was known as a human) will be locked in combat with the fate of Atlantis at stake.

Patrick Wilson is the latest actor to be added to the Aquaman cast. The lineup also includes Jason Momoa as the eponymous protagonist, Amber Heard as Mera and Willem Dafoe as Vulko. Black Manta will also serve as the movie's other main villain, but he hasn't been publicly cast yet. It's worth noting that Orm will be Wilson's second DECU role, as he voiced the President of the United States in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Aquaman dives into theaters on October 5, 2018. Let us know what you think of the Ocean Master artwork in the comments below.
