In the pages of Marvel comics, Deadpool and Wolverine make a great pair. After all, they share a power in that they both have incredible healing factors - and the fact that the latter isn't a big fan of the former often leads to some very funny confrontations and fights. Sadly, despite recent rumors, you shouldn't expect to see this pair on the big screen together any time soon - according to Ryan Reynolds.
So while there are a lot of fans out there who would love to see Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine face off on the big screen in a non-X-Men Origins: Wolverine capacity, it looks like that won't be happening in 2017.
Ryan Reynolds wasn't the only one to hop on to the denial train either. James Mangold, who is the director of Logan, also took to his personal social media account to shoot down the Deadpool rumor - saying that it was just an entertainment section version of "fake news." The director wrote:
So don't get your hopes up, folks. It looks like Deadpool showing up in Logan isn't something that you should prepare for.
Admittedly, this is just a touch disappointing. As happy as we were to finally get the Deadpool movie earlier this year, its timing really couldn't have been worse, given that Hugh Jackman has said many times that Logan will be his last time playing Wolverine. As a result, we still can still possibly hold out hope that Hugh Jackman might make a cameo as himself in Deadpool 2 or something along those lines, but anything more than that might never come together.
