How Tom Holland Feels About Being A Part Of Avengers: Infinity War

Avengers: Infinity War is officially underway, with filming having begun on January 23. By now, you must have seen the featurette Marvel Studios released yesterday commemorating the first day of shooting and basically getting everyone jazzed up for one of the craziest movies ever made. In the video, Rober Downey Jr, Chris Pratt, and Tom Holland stood side by side to talk about how nuts this whole thing is, while at the same time officially confirming that Holland's Spider-Man will be in the film. Holland recently shared his thoughts on his involvement with Infinity War and he could hardly believe this was happening to him.

Tom Holland shared his unbridled shock and enthusiasm on Instagram, posting a screengrab from the Infinity War featurette of himself standing with Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Pratt- two leaders of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Holland couldn't believe his good fortune at being able to be a part of a movie that -- good or bad -- will not easily be forgotten by movie history. He feels honored to be included, and ensured everyone that they are "crushing it everyday." His excitement is definitely infectious, and 2018 really can't come here any faster.

This is especially crazy when you consider that there was almost was no Spider-Man in the MCU at all. The character was over at Sony, trying to jumpstart their own cinematic universe with the Amazing Spider-Man. Those plans didn't exactly pan out very well, and now here we are with Spider-Man meeting Iron Man and going out into space to fight an intergalactic conqueror. It's a crazy world for superhero fans, and it's hard to remember a time when we could only dream that a movie like this would be possible.

Avengers: Infinity War is directed by Joe and Anthony Russo from a script penned by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. The film's plot is being kept under lock and key but it will involve the Avengers teaming up with the Guardians of the Galaxy in order to stop Thanos (Josh Brolin) from assembling the reality altering Infinity Gauntlet. The film features a massive cast featuring the likes of Robert Downey Jr., Chris Pratt, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Zoe Saldana, Elizabeth Olsen, and Scarlett Johansson, to only name a small handful.

Because this video makes me happy, here's that Infinity War featurette just one more time.

Avengers: Infinity War is scheduled to hit theaters on May 4, 2018.
