Avengers: Infinity War Video Gives Us A Tease Of Thor And Rocket Raccoon Together
Marvel has spent years teasing the prospect of seeing their two biggest superhero teams on the big screen together - and I am of course referring to The Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy. Because The Avengers: Infinity War only recently started production, that footage sadly doesn't exist yet, but this brand new video does give us a quick taste, specifically with Rocket Raccoon and Thor fighting back to back. Check it out!
This video comes to us from the official Marvel Studios YouTube account, and features footage that will be included within a new featurette that will be included on the upcoming Blu-ray for Doctor Strange. And just so you don't have to do it yourself, you can check out a screenshot of the amazing concept art below:
Pretty damn exciting stuff! Obviously we're extremely thrilled just to have the tease of Rocket and Thor together in one piece of concept art, but there's another interesting element to this shot as well. If you look at what the God of Thunder is holding, you'll notice that it is not his trusty hammer Mjolnir, but instead a ridiculously big axe (not unlike the one that Thor carried in Marvel's line of Ultimate comics). What happened to the original weapon? Maybe Thor: Ragnarok will provide an answer when it comes out later this year.
Awesome as seeing Rocket and Thor together is, it's also key to point out that it's not the only piece of concept art that is featured in this new Avengers: Infinity War video. In fact, it actually includes a first look at some awesome new drones that Tony Stark has been building:
As well as a new vision of Thanos, who is finally getting his spotlight moment in The Avengers: Infinity War after six years of big screen teases (and is featured for the first time out of his normal gold armor):
Marvel fans will be able to get a bigger taste of this featurette when Doctor Strange arrives in stores on February 28th, and will be able to dip back into the world in theaters around the world when James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 drops. Unfortunately, we still have a long time to wait for The Avengers: Infinity War, as that blockbuster isn't going to be coming out until May 2018, but until then be sure to stay tuned here on CinemaBlend for all the latest updates!
