One Embarrassing Moment Laura Dern Had On The Set Of Star Wars: The Last Jedi
If you've been paying attention to movie news, posters or trailers in the least you probably already know there's a new Star Wars movie coming in December and that the new movie Star Wars: The Last Jedi will feature Laura Dern. The actress recently said she's pretty much unable to share anything about her upcoming role in the new Disney and Lucasfilm movie, but she was able to share an embarrassing story to Ellen DeGeneres about director Rian Johnson editing one of her scenes in The Last Jedi. She said:
This isn't the first time we've heard a version of this story, but it is the first time we've heard about the specifics of those pew noises. Sure, it's probably super embarrassing for Dern to tell this story in public, but also completely adorable. As a fellow pew-noise lover, I can say that Laura Dern made more of a cute pew noise during her visit on The Ellen Show than an aggressive I'm-gonna-take-down-some-enemies one, and I can just imagine Rian Johnson trying to edit the scene with Laura Dern and her badass weapon and being totally amused by all those pews. But if you didn't see Dern tell the story, here's the pew noise for your own enjoyment.
Although Laura Dern is staying pretty quiet about what sort of character she will be playing in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, we have heard she is playing a character called Vice Admiral Holdo. Her character was revealed earlier this summer, along with a first look image. We've also heard that she's supposed to be "bombastic", which explains her choice of purple hair. We've also heard she and Poe Dameron may not get along in the movie due to a difference in opinion after Dameron begins leading The Resistance fleet. We'll have to wait and see what all that will entail once the movie finally hits theaters. In the meantime, Dern also shared a new look at her character in the movie, and you can check that out, below.
If you'd like to hear more about Laura Dern's experiences on set, you can take a look at the The Ellen Show. In addition, Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters on December 15, 2017.
