How Many Movies We Could See Deadpool 2's Domino In

Zazie Beetz as Domino

It's no secret that superhero movies are everywhere. The genre has is probably the most popular in the entertainment world, leading every major studio to get in on the action. 20th Fox helped break new ground with its ambitious and expectation defying romp Deadpool, and they're no doubt hoping to strike gold twice with its upcoming sequel. Deadpool 2 will bring back all the characters from the original, while also introducing audiences to newcomers with Cable and Domino. The latter is played by Atlanta star Zazie Beetz, and we recently learned exactly how many movies to expect from the X-Man in the future.

It was just revealed that rather than just one movie, Zazie Beetz has actually signed a three film contract with Fox to play Domino in future appearances. As such, we should expect the X-Men member from the comics to stick around, and possibly appear in a movie outside of the Deadpool franchise. Most notably, Drew Goddard's X-Force movie.

News of Zazie Beetz' three film deal comes to us from THR, and is sure to be an exciting bit of news for all the hardcore comic book fans out there. Domino and Deadpool have a long history together in the source material, and have been shown to date each other on and off. She's perhaps Deadpool's most infamous romantic partner, other than Vanessa (Morena Baccarin in the films). Since we'll see at least two additional appearances from the character, perhaps that means the flirtation will begin in Deadpool 2.

While it's a no brainer to keep Domino around in the Deadpool franchise, perhaps the contact was drawn by Fox with the intentions of other properties. The development of an X-Force movie has been moving forward over at the studio, and the team simply wouldn't be the same without Domino. And with the fans eager for possible crossovers with the X-Men franchise proper, the possibilities are pretty endless.

One has to wonder if Josh Brolin inked a similar deal with Fox. Casting him as the time traveling mutant Cable was a major get, and fans are eager to see the beloved X-Man finally pop up in live-action. But Brolin might not be interested in having a continued relationship with the Deadpool franchise. Between Cable and playing Thanos in the MCU, he's had no break from the world of comic book movies.

Then again, having an X-Force movie without Cable seems almost like blasphemy. And since his tenure as Thanos will likely end with Avengers 4, Brolin may be down to hop onto another massively successful franchise. Two words: cha ching.

You can catch Zazie Beetz in Deadpool 2 May 18, 2018. In the meantime, check out our 2018 release list to plan your next trip to the movies.
