Two MCU Actors Just Joined The Sonic The Hedgehog Movie

Adam Pally, Neil McDonough

Next year, one of the biggest video game stars in history is branching out to the big screen. Sonic the Hedgehog is racing to theaters, despite the fact that movies based on video games historically haven't panned out very well. However, the Sonic brand is massive, and there's little doubt that even after some two decades of iffy quality games, people will show up for a Sonic movie. The project has been filling out its cast and now to former MCU actors are joining in. According to new reports, Adam Pally and Neal McDonough are going to meet a blue hedgehog.

Per Collider, Adam Pally and Neal McDonough are on board to join Paramount's Sonic the Hedgehog. The two of them will join the already cast Ben Schwartz as Sonic; James Marsden; Tika Sumpter; and Jim Carrey as a live-action Dr. Robotnik (also known as Dr. Eggman). Not too many details are known about the film, but it will follow Marsden's small-town cop as he accompanies Sonic the Hedgehog on a road trip to San Francisco in a race against Dr. Robotnik to recover Sonic's rings. Pally will play a fellow cop, but McDonough's role is still unknown. That plot description is a pretty far cry from what Sonic fans are typically used to, but then again, Sonic once fought King Arthur and the Round Table, so this franchise just likes to go for it.

Audiences will recognize Adam Pally and Neal McDonough from a variety of movie and television roles, but MCU fans should be pretty familiar with them. McDonough played Dum Dum Dugan in Captain America: The First Avenger, fighting alongside Steve Rogers as one of his Howling Commandos. He went on to play the character a few more time in smaller roles, such as in a Marvel One-Shot and an episode of Agent Carter.

Adam Pally meanwhile is known for his fan-favorite Gary the Cameraman from Iron Man 3. He was a Tony Stark fanboy who helped his idol out of a jam when Iron Man needed access to his news van. The character has not been seen since then, but Pally believes that Gary did survive Thanos' snap and has been trying to get the Russo Brothers to put him in Avengers 4 as the new Iron Man. They have not been answering his calls.

Sonic the Hedgehog is still a while away, but fans can expect to see the Blue Blur in theaters on November 15, 2019.
