While big budget blockbuster movies look amazing on the big screen, we know that making them isn't always that much fun. All the digital effects that need to be created, along with the performances and camera work that needs to be done in order to fit those effects in the film can be complex. One assumes that making a Jurassic World movie probably isn't actually all that much fun and while there may come a point when that's the case, it turns out that the early part of making a Jurassic World movie actually looks like quite a lot of fun. Check it out.

The image posted to Twitter by Jurassic World 3 director Colin Trevorrow shows him and his co-writer on the project Emily Carmichael talking about the story of the upcoming movie, which Trevorrow refers to by the technically accurate name of Jurassic Park VI. They're in France, they're kicking back in lounge chairs, and since this picture was apparently taken this past summer, the weather was probably amazing. Ok, yeah, working in movies looks pretty sweet.

It's certainly the case that this picture isn't what making every movie always looks like, even if the impression of some is that this is the way Hollywood always works. Still, if there is a really fun part about making movies, it's got to be this. Two people kicking back together, probably just spitballing ideas and building off of each other's thoughts as they try to flesh out what the story of the new film will be. Actually getting that story on film will be a lot of hard work. Even simply turning this conversation into a screenplay isn't necessarily "fun," but it all comes from a couple people hanging out talking about what would make a great movie. The sort of conversation you've probably had with friends a million times.

It's almost hard to imagine what Colin Trevorrow and Emily Carmichael, the writer of Pacific Rim Uprising, could be talking about, if only because the story for the next Jurassic World movie could go in any number of directions. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom ended with some number of dinosaurs escaping captivity and making it out into the open of Northern California. From there the story could go almost anywhere. We could get a movie that picks up immediately after the last film where our heroes scour the countryside trying to recapture all the dinos. We could get a zombie style film where humans attempt to survive from the onslaught of attacking dinosaurs. We could get a post-apocalyptic hellscape where dinosaurs rule the earth and the last remaining humans fight to survive. I mean, probably not that last one, but maybe.

What the movie will be called might give us a clue, but we don't know that yet. Colin Trevorrow says in a later tweet that he wishes the movie would be called Jurassic Park VI but that's almost certainly not going to happen. Jurassic World 3 or whatever it will be called is scheduled to hit theaters in the summer of 2021.
