The 2018 reboot of Halloween did fairly well, as reboots go, at the box office and critically speaking. After 40 years since the original film, the story harkened back to its “roots” with Jamie Lee Curtis’ return as Laurie, with the character having even more agency in the fight against the seemingly unbeatable Michael Myers. But, of course, it ended with a cliffhanger. Three years, and apparently a lot of chaos, later, and the trailer for its sequel, Halloween Kills, is finally out. And boy, are Real Housewives fans having the best reactions to Kyle Richards’ appearing as Lindsey once again. If you haven’t seen the trailer yet, check it out below:

As Bravo fans know, Kyle Richards often talked about her reprising her role in Halloween Kills on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in the past few seasons. Now that the trailer is out, online reactions even suggest a bridging of Richards’ two fanbases. See this Real Housewives fan’s tweet:

The post alludes to the Season 11 opener of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, where Kyle Richards was shown in bed after having plastic surgery on her nose. At the time, she said only “something flew back and hit me in the face,” but it wasn't clear if that was Michael Myers fists or his chainsaw in Halloween Kills that caused the injury. Judging by the trailer, it looks like Richards was centered right in the path of Michael Myers’ destruction. Real Housewives fans seem to agree and they're using even more gifs from the franchise to show it in their reactions. Check out this hilarious post:

Kyle Richards' brief appearance in the new Halloween Kills trailer suggests a few other things. One, it seems her storyline will call back to the original film. Lindsey was seen desperately urging a young person to run, in an effort to save them – just as Laurie once did for Lindsey. Two, Richards is bringing back the signature bangs that Lindsey had as a child in the original Halloween – and one Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fan is “scared.”

As seen in the opener of the Halloween Kills trailer, Michael Myers didn't end up dying in the basement after Laurie set the house on fire in the last film. Obviously someone had to be unleashing all this carnage in the next iteration. No worries though, as fans had another great reaction to the reveal, with a little Real Housewives of Beverly Hills throwback of their own:

It's likely Halloween Kills is hoping to continue off the success of the last film by bringing in more allusions to the original. Both Kyle Richards and Anthony Michael Hall were brought back into the fold. And much like how Jamie Lee Curtis’ reappearance as Laurie reinvigorated fans in Halloween (2018), Lindsay’s reappearance will do something similar in Halloween Kills. Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fans seem appreciative of it as well:

Old faces aren’t the only ones returning, however. In the Halloween Kills trailer, we also caught more glimpses into the next generation, including Laurie's daughter (Judy Greer) and granddaughter (Andi Matichak). It's an interesting and poetic sort of mix of old and new, things coming full circle and legacy. Let's hope that Kyle Richards’ legacy isn't killed off in this new film, or it might not feel just the adoration, but also the wrath of Real Housewives fans.
