There's A Snake In Animal Kingdom's Gorilla Enclosure At Disney World (Better Than In My Boot)

Disney's Animal Kingdom is one of the most unique theme parks in the world. With its focus on the living world and real animals the location may look like a simple zoo from the outside but it is actually so much more than that. If however, you want to simply walk through the park and look at different animal enclosures similar to what you would find in a zoo, you can certainly do that. Although, you may find a lot more than you're expecting, as some gorillas recently did.

A user on TikTok recently posted some video from Disney's Animal Kingdom which shows the gorilla enclosure, which has been infiltrated by a snake. Needless to say, the gorillas are really unsure what to make of this. The video shows them investigating the grass to see just what the heck is going on, though they're also more than a little freaked out that there's something small slithering around on the ground. It's easy to forget that Walt Disney World is still built on top of a swamp, and so you still get a lot of the wildlife from that swamp all over the park. Sometimes that means you can get dangerous alligators in Bay Lake, or sometimes that apparently just means you can get a random snake in the gorilla enclosure.

The whole video is really interesting actually. The gorillas are, for the most part, just really curious. They see something moving on in the grass and they have no idea what is. The gorillas uncover it and the snake just goes looking for cover. It's also sort of funny to watch these massive creatures be a little weirded out by the whole thing. They want to know what's going on, but they also don't want to get too close. At more than one point, between this video and the follow-up below, you see one of the gorillas just take off to get the heck away from whatever is making the grass move.

This is just a small example of why Disney's Animal Kingdom is so great. When you're dealing with real animals, you never know just what will happen. It makes every trip to the theme park just a little bit different. Walt Disney wanted real animals in his original Jungle Cruise and while it was eventually determined that simply wouldn't work, Animal Kingdom made Walt's dream come true at a scale that he likely never even conceived of.

I'm guessing that the snake either found its own way out of the enclosure on one of the keepers discovered it and transported it elsewhere. Then the gorillas were able to calm down and get back to life as usual. They are still quite the show, even if they're not dealing with an interloper invading their space.
