Jason Momoa’s Just Messing Around While Waiting To Film Aquaman 2, But I Still Love That His Trailer Says ‘Arthur’

Jason Momoa as Aquaman

It's not uncommon for actors who portray superheroes for a long time to start identifying more and more with their characters, but that seems to happen more often in the Marvel Universe. However, Aquaman star Jason Momoa, who was already pretty much perfect for the superhero role when he was cast, has since taken on even more of the persona of his Atlantean hero. With Aquaman 2 having started filming, Momoa can be seen messing around with his guitar outside his trailer while waiting to film his scenes, and his connection to his character is evident by the fact that his trailer does not say Jason, but Arthur - the alter ego of Aquaman himself.

Jason Momoa recently took to his Instagram to post a clip and a few pics of himself outside of his trailer, with the post itself actually promoting the new line of clothes the actor is developing with Harley Davidson. The pics look right on brand with what the absolute badass typically wears, and he even notes that they look good with his Aquaman tattoos, as he can bee seen donning the neck tat that helps transform him into Aquaman. While the clothes, tats, and Jason Momoa in general are cool as hell, I can’t help but zone in on the fact that Momoa’s trailer still says Arthur for the sequel. I just take it as a huge gesture that Momoa is really connected to the character and has really taken his portrayal of the superhero to heart, even seeing it as a personal identity.

Jason Momoa has been open about how much respect and love he has for the role and the franchise as a whole. As a matter of fact, it was so important to him that after the first film, he actually got together with his writing partner and took a stab at writing the script for a sequel. They pitched the script and, when the film finally releases, it'll be interesting to learn how Momoa came up with certain elements of the story.

Not only is Jason Momoa basically the best choice possible to play Arthur Curry and his superhero counterpart, but it was the film that brought him out of the financial struggle he was in, even after his days on the massively popular Game of Thrones. Considering how the role saw him and his family through a tough time and how audiences have connected with the character, it makes a ton of sense why the project is so important to Momoa and why he would be happy to identify with the character so strongly.

Jason Momoa certainly is not struggling for work now, of course. He has a ton of projects upcoming and/or in the works, including The career altering Dune reboot that will finally hit theaters on October 22nd. James Wan's Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom just started filming and is currently scheduled to hit theaters on December 16, 2022. I don’t know about you, but I’m super excited to see Momoa’s Arthur Curry back on the big screen.
