Hero Blend #87: Daredevil Season 2 Reviewed (Spoilers Edition!)

In 2015, Marvel Studios opened up a whole new side of their Marvel Cinematic Universe. While the company spent years making feature films and television shows intended for all audiences, Daredevil marked a turn into much darker territory, delivering a street-level hero who gets quite a bit bloody in his fight against crime. The show completely blew us away with its first season, and this past week we finally got our second dose.

Daredevil Season 2 is a bit different than its predecessor, not only because Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez have replaced Steven DeKnight as showrunners, but because some of the spotlight was shared with Frank Castle a.k.a. The Punisher (played by Jon Bernthal), and Elektra (played by Elodie Yung). As the show progresses, we not only see the escalation that has arrived in the world of vigilantism – with Daredevil putting people behind bars and Punisher putting them in the ground – but also deeper insight into the actions of the ninja clan The Hand and their desire to win a long-fought war against The Chaste.

So what did this new season of Daredevil do right? What did it do wrong? We break that all down in this special spoiler-filled review episode of Hero Blend – which has me sitting down with the brilliant Roth Cornet from HitFix. Enjoy the show!
