Subscribe To Kim And Kanye Have Apparently Given Up On 2016... Well, Publicly Anyway Updates
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are evidently just as fed up with 2016 as the rest of us, and it seems like they've decided that they're done with it. After a pair of traumatic events in the past few months, the supercouple is now reportedly cancelling all of their remaining public appearances through the end of the year.
A source told Page Six that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West will be staying at home and focusing on their family for the remainder of 2016. Prior to this news, West had cancelled all 21 remaining shows on his Saint Pablo tour and Kardashian had already been notably avoiding public events.
The monthlong retreat from the public comes after Kanye West was released from UCLA hospital last week after staying there for nine days following a reported temporary psychosis. Two weeks ago, West was taken into the hospital on a psychiatric hold after allegedly getting aggressive with a member of his staff. The reported altercation took place a couple days after West went on a long, impassioned rant about politics and celebrity culture at what turned out to be his final concert of the year, and then cancelled the rest of his dates, citing exhaustion. West's physician said that the rapper's exhaustion and dehydration is what caused his temporary breakdown, and some sources have also reported that the anniversary of his mother's death and the fact that he was away from Kardashian during the stressful time also took a toll on him.
Kim Kardashian had already been removing herself from the public eye for two months since she was held at gunpoint and robbed in Paris in early October. The normally ubiquitous reality star has remained uncharacteristically absent from public events as well as her various social media accounts since the robbery. She was actually scheduled to make her return to the red carpet on the day that Kanye West was admitted to the hospital two weeks ago, but after learning of her husband's hospitalization, she cancelled her appearance at a New York gala honoring her late father in order to fly to the west coast. Kardashian stayed by West's side in the hospital throughout his stay, and it appears the couple will continue their time alone together for the remainder of the year now.
Apparently, Kanye West is feeling better after his stay at the hospital, but still needs some time to get back to his old self. Likewise, Kim Kardashian is reportedly doing well, but is still pretty rattled from the traumatizing robbery experience in October, and is still working on how she wants to return to her high-profile public life following the trauma. If any couple deserves a break from the rest of this hellish year, it's Kim and Kanye. Here's hoping for a better 2017.
