The Kind Message JK Rowling Shared For Those Having A Rough Christmas

Weasley Christmas

Christmas can be a difficult and lonely holiday for those going through a rough time. Factor in social media's displays of warm, family-filled holidays and the situation may feel even worse. Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling reached out to those struggling through the holiday season with a series of Tweets to help shed some perspective....

She began by addressing the well wishes she's received this holiday season..

And pointing out that tough times seem even worse this time of year...

She brings it all around to one simple, important message...

And caps it off with an emoji-filled holiday greeting...

J.K. Rowling's own transformation is well known by Harry Potter fans. She faced numerous struggles throughout her life, including the time leading up to the publication of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. J.K. Rowling likely knows better than most just how much things can turn around in a person's life.

Her tweet's offer a great bit of perspective from someone whose faced her own tough times. And hopefully her inspiring words will resonate with those facing their own challenges this holiday season.

Expecto Patronum.

Kelly put her life-long love of movies, TV and books to greater use when she joined CinemaBlend as a freelance TV news writer in 2006, and went on to serve as the site’s TV Editor before joining the staff full-time in 2011 and moving over to other roles at the site. At present, she’s an Assistant Managing Editor who spends much of her time brainstorming and editing features, analyzing site data, working with writers and editors on content planning and the workflow, and (of course) continuing to obsess over the best movies and TV shows (those that already exist, and the many on the way). She graduated from SUNY Cortland with BA in Communication Studies and a minor in Cinema Studies. When she isn't working, she's probably thinking about work, or reading (or listening to a book), and making sure her cats are living their absolute best feline lives.
