Matt Rife - Laugh Factory YouTube Channel

In a surprise turn of events, it was revealed at the beginning of 2019 that Pete Davidson rebounded from Ariana Grande with Kate Beckinsale. It was a coupling that few saw coming. While the stars haven't discussed the relationship publicly, they were seen playing tongue gymnastics at a recent sporting event. So, yeah, it seems pretty official. And while plenty of people have voiced their opinion about the celebrity relationship, comedian Matt Rife has a few things he wanted to say about the newfound relationship, notably given his (previous) relationship to the Underworld actress. He dated Beckinsale back in 2017, and the entertainer has words of advice to give to Davidson. Not many of which are flattering, admittedly.

Advice for Pete? Man to man? Run. Enjoy it while you can. I hope they’re both happy. I hope they can build where it's an established, good relationship. I haven’t spoken to her in awhile. I haven’t spoken to Pete in about the same amount of time, if not longer. I wish them both the best and hope they’re happy. I don’t really have any solid advice. Just be careful.

Matt Rife's cryptic quote comes from TMZ. The tabloid publication caught up with the comedian in front of the Laugh Factory, and had a few questions regarding the new relationship status of his former fling. The response above is related to what "advice" Rife had for his fellow comedian in his newfound romantic endeavor. Based on this answer, it doesn't sound like things ended blissfully for Rife and Beckinsale when they were an item, but he didn't get into any specifics about why he would suggest Davidson "run" from the actress.

Though it can be hard to read between the lines when it comes to privately-held relationships, Matt Rife and Kate Beckinsale dated for a year, and by Rife's admission, they shared a "complicated" relationship together. And it does not seem like he has too many fond memories of dating the actress a couple years earlier. Sure enough, while he tried his best to give a heartfelt bit of good faith, it wasn't long before his response devolved into warnings. He thinks Pete Davidson should back out of the relationship while there's still time to do so. That's not comforting.

Meanwhile, when it came to parting words to give to the renewed romantics, Matt Rife wished the "best of luck" to both Pete Davidson and Kate Beckinsale. But the young comedian said outright that he wouldn't get back together with Beckinsale.

Some might find it in poor taste to ask someone about their ex, let alone about their new lover. So you can excuse Matt Rife for his less-than-charitable bit of advice. It's not like it is a subject he likes to revisit. But he did the best he could to provide Pete Davidson with helpful tips for Kate Beckinsale. Whether or not Davidson heeds these warnings will be determined in the days or months to come.
