Rihanna’s been busy with her Diamonds World tour, but the “We Found Love” singer recently spent a crazy weekend in Thailand, partying on the island of Phuket, where she spent time with the locals, checked out some wildlife, and even spent some time in the island’s red-light districts. The pop star is known for some risky behavior, but surprisingly it wasn’t the red light districts that got her into hot water this time around. Instead, an Instagram photo of the pop singer posing with a protected species known as the slow loris.
The prolific social media user posed with the slow loris in a photo, captioning it with the words “Look who was talkin dirty to me!” The photo was one of many the singer posted that day, but it caught the attention of authorities in the area who have been cracking down on the problem of people exploiting wildlife for a monetary benefit. According to Billboard, police were able to investigate the issue and eventually arrested a 20-year-old and a 16-year-old, finding them in possession of two lorises. They could be fined and may very well land themselves in prison for exploiting the creature.
Phuket district chief, Weera Kerdsirimongkon said that Rihanna’s popular Instagram photo led the police directly to the arrests.
While Rihanna’s photo led directly to the police arresting the two gentlemen, it doesn’t seem as if the 25-year-old singer is in any trouble over the incident. She later boarded an airplane on Sunday, tweeting from the airport as she went through customs. Rihanna’s next stop on her big tour is a date in Singapore tonight. She also has several other dates slated over the next several weeks, including gigs in Australia and New Zealand. Provided she doesn’t get involved with any more wildlife exploiters, she’s currently set to tour through November and you can check out her full list of tour dates, here.
