Psy Teases New Single, Dance

When Psy’s “Gangnam Style” dropped in July of 2012, it quickly became a cultural phenomenon, projecting the Korean singer to success internationally, and spawning plenty of YouTube hits (he even managed to knock Justin Bieber out of the top slot). This month, Psy will attempt that feat again with a new single called “Gentleman.”

You would think it would be hard to achieve the same level of success as “Gangnam Style,” but Psy has a plan…and a new dance. The singer and performer revealed that “Gentleman” will be released on April 12, but he’s keeping quiet on most of the details. According to Reuters, Psy is saying Koreans may recognize the dance in “Gentleman,” but it should be new for others across the globe.

"I can't tell you about the dance but all Koreans know this dance - but (those in) other countries haven't seen it.”

The singer is also saying the track will be fun, which shouldn’t be a surprise for the artist whose last video featured wild costumes and a horse dance. After the song’s April 12 release, Psy is expected to perform the track in public for the first time at a live concert. He’s been promoting the event all week, asking fans to wear white and also posing in white himself—including a wedding dress. Clearly, Psy is ready to jump back onto the world’s stage with a new single, but, we’ll have to wait and see whether the man will ever have another hit single that achieves even close to the amount of fame “Gangnam Style” brought him.
