Zac Efron Reportedly Struggled With A Cocaine Addiction

I don’t know what the hell is going on with the Los Angeles area gossip media lately. Last summer, Khloe Kardashian was somehow able to force Lamar Odom into rehab in San Diego without any reporters finding out what was going on, and now, we’re getting word that Zac Efron allegedly went to rehab and completed a stint months ago without the general public getting even a whiff of it.

Obviously, details are still very fuzzy about what the hell happened, but People Magazine claims he went in and came out approximately five months ago. Sources close to the actor who verified the story are reportedly very pleased with his progress, but no one involved is speaking on the record. TMZ is hearing cocaine may be the issue in question with the problem spiraling out of control during the Neighbors shoot, but again, that’s just speculation at this point.

Efron has never been an actor who creates too much attention or speaks extensively about his personal life. He’s traditionally happy to let the work do the talking, which is a good thing. Since trouble has never found him, it’s reasonable to assume this supposed problem with drugs and alcohol never got outlandishly out of control. If it did, we would have all read about it in tabloids and/ or heard about someone who heard about someone who heard about someone who saw Efron acting like a drunk or high mess at some bar. Clearly, however, if it was bad enough to go to rehab, it's a good thing he was proactive about it.

Because of his clear handsomeness and his High School Musical origins, people always underestimate Efron’s natural talent, but he’s more than capable of knocking the right role out of the park. Hopefully, he will continue embracing sobriety and focus on exciting new projects, whether they be huge megafilms the whole world will see or quiet, more eccentric pieces that might let the performer remind the world how talented he is.

Pop Blend’s well-wishes go out to Efron during this time.
