A Major Game Of Thrones Star Just Said The Most Horrible Fan Theory Is False
Game of Thrones is not a show for the faint of heart. An awful lot of worst case scenarios seem to come true on a weekly basis, and we have to watch good character struggle with horrifying circumstances. Sansa Stark has had one of the roughest rides of any Thrones character to date thanks to her marriage to Ramsay Bolton, who took great pleasure in brutalizing her whenever he felt like it. Ramsay is now dead, but his parting words that he would be with Sansa forever led many fans to wonder if Sansa could possibly be pregnant. Luckily, Sansa actress Sophie Turner has come out to debunk the theory.
In a chat with THR, Sophie Turner had this to say about Ramsay's final words to Sansa:
Sophie Turner's comments confirm that Ramsay's threats were figurative and were meant to be more about her state of mind rather than about the contents of her womb. This should come as a relief to those of us who were worried that the poor girl might have Ramsay's baby on the way. Although Davos actor Liam Cunningham had spoken out and said that he didn't think Ramsay could have possibly known whether or not she was pregnant, anything was really possible. Game of Thrones dropped what could have been a hint about a pregnancy shortly after Sansa reunited with Jon, and those Northern furs could conceivably hide a baby belly on a malnourished young woman for a while. She probably wasn't pregnant, but she totally could have been.
Personally, I'm glad that I won't have to spend the hiatus between Seasons 6 and 7 wondering even a little bit if Sansa could be pregnant courtesy of Ramsay. After all, a Game of Thrones writer has recently come out and said that timelines on the show don't match up. What has been months in Essos and King's Landing could have been weeks in the North, and Sansa just wasn't showing yet. Sophie Turner confirmed that months have passed for Sansa as well, and we now know that Sansa can take her place by the side of her brother/secret cousin Jon to do her part to fight for her home without the burden of a baby on the way, courtesy of one of the most evil men ever to appear on the show.
Season 6 has only just ended, so we'll have to wait a while before we get to see what's next for Sansa in the North. Check out our breakdown of what we know so far about Season 7 for a look at what's ahead.
