Watch The Awkward Moment When Kristi Yamaguchi's Husband Brings Up Spanking On Family Feud
Family Feud basically exists to get random individuals to say outrageous things on our televisions. It's been this way for as long as I can remember, although the game show has probably gotten better under the tenure of Steve Harvey, who is great about making timely faces and egging people on. His Celebrity Family Feud version has been an even bigger hit, as it's been fun to see celebs make the bold sorts of statements regular contestants have made over the years. This happened recently, when Kristi Yamaguchi's family brought up spanking. You can watch the awkward exchange, below.
Kristi Yamaguchi is married to Bret Hedican, who is a bit of a celebrity in his own right. The former NHL player won the Stanley Cup with the Carolina Hurricanes in 2006 and he also played during the Olympics, where he met his wife. He's not quite as smooth while playing Celebrity Family Feud as he is out on the ice, however. When Steve Harvey gave the clue, "I think my wife is going to __ me to death, Bret Hedican answers, "spank." It's a really weird answer, and both Kristi Yamaguchi and Steve Harvey acted accordingly.
After that initial reaction, Yamaguchi laughed a little nervously, while Steve Harvey declared that the audience, "Got a peek into the Yamaguchi house." Steve Harvey managed to even make the awkward moment span several additional awkward moments when he started talking about the couple's love life and bedroom intimacy. It's the sort of thing that has to be seen to be believed, so if you haven't clicked on the video yet, it's a pretty funny watch.
People really seem to like it when celebrities behave like regular individuals and say awkward things on television. In fact, Celebrity Family Feud has been a summer hit for the last few years on ABC, and the network has already decided to bring back the celebrity take on the hit game show for a fourth season that will air in the summer of 2017. The even better news? If you haven't actually caught an episode of the game show, yet, we do highly suggest it. You can catch new episodes on Sunday nights at 8 p.m. ET. In addition, you can see what other TV shows are set to premiere over the next couple of months with our fall schedule.
