Watch Green Arrow, Supergirl And More Kicking Ass In Extended DC TV Crossover Trailer

Comic TV shows are all the rage nowadays, and The CW is less than a week away from kicking off a superhero extravaganza of unprecedented scale. The four-night crossover event will bring the heroes of Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow together to battle a race of evil aliens that have arrived on Earth. We've gotten a few teases of what we'll see when the good guys team up, but The CW has outdone itself with a new extended trailer for the "Heroes v. Aliens" event. Check it out!

If there was any doubt that The CW was pulling out all the stops for "Heroes v. Aliens," I'd say that this two-minute trailer is proof that this crossover is bigger than anything the network has even attempted before. "Heroes v. Aliens" looks more like The CW's version of Independence Day than anything else. Honestly, I half expected the trailer to end with a scene of Lynda Carter channeling her inner Bill Pullman to rouse the super-troops.

The new trailer gives us our first idea of what drove the Dominators to drop by Earth and spread some mayhem. Their argument that they need to exterminate "the scourge" of our planet before it spreads to theirs is as terrifying as it is ambiguous, but it fits with what we know of the Dominators of DC Comic lore. In the comics, the aliens attacked Earth because they were concerned about the growing population of metahumans. Given the explosion of metahumans and superpowered individuals in the Arrow-verse over the past couple of years, it actually makes sense that a race of meta-hating aliens would attack Earth.

Judging by the trailer's scenes of very human soldiers battling Dominators, the aliens clearly don't have any qualms about harming non-metas. I'll admit that one of my fears about the ginormous "Heroes v. Aliens" crossover was that the non-superpowered heroes like Green Arrow and White Canary would be overlooked while the Flash and Supergirl zipped around and saved the day in the spotlight. From the looks of things, there will be plenty of Dominator action to go around. The good guys may need every trick arrow in Oliver's quiver as much as they do Barry's superspeed and Kara's flight.

Luckily, we don't have to wait too much longer to see how all The CW's superheroes work together. "Heroes v. Aliens" starts off with Supergirl on Monday, November 28 at 8 p.m. ET, then continues with The Flash on Tuesday, Arrow on Wednesday, and Legends of Tomorrow on Thursday. The event will reportedly culminate with a hugely climactic battle involving all the biggest heroes that The CW has to offer, so we may all need to use Friday as a recovery day after all the excitement.
