How Lisa Rinna And Kim Richards Finally Ended Their Real Housewives Feud

lissa rinna real housewives of beverly hills season 6

A reality series with so much drama moving around that dramamine is needed, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills has been recently embroiled in a feud between star Lisa Rinna and former regular (and current sporadic guest star) Kim Richards that seemed as if it could only be squashed by death or mind control. However, it appears that all of the squabbling has ceased, as Tuesday night's episode dropped a bombshell of bizarre proportions when Rinna finally decided to fess up to spreading the rumors about Richards that kicked off the feud to begin with. That's growth, right?

As those familiar are probably aware, Lisa Rinna talked out of turn some weeks back about the sobriety of Kim Richards, a past rehab attendee, and about her being close to death (among other things). She'd since denied making those comments, but during the latest episode, Rinna made a full admission to Eden Sassoon (who recently took some vicious comments herself), using the justification of "I tell the truth" to do it, even though the reason she's having to make this confession is because she'd been flat-out lying. Had she apologized to Richards in a similarly private setting, it might have been normal, but Rinna decided to out herself in front of an entire cheesecake party being held at the home of Kyle Richards, Kim's sister, whom Rinna blasted as being Kim's enabler. To her credit, Rinna's Big Apology began sincerely.

I see that you're in a good place right now - I do. This was in the heat of the moment after game night. It was coming from a place where I felt very safe with Eden. We are two people who have lost sisters. We lost our sisters to overdoses. I wasn't maligning. You were provoking me and I didn't understand that. I have only wanted to move on with you.

And to Kim Richards' credit, she didn't just accept that with ease, and the two had a pretty aggressive back-and-forth conversation, though it was more defensive than offensive, which was a sign that things could end gracefully. (Or a close enough representation of gracefully.) Both Kim and Kyle took Rinna to task for speaking false assumptions and for having the gall to lie about it all, and Eden Sassoon was momentarily brought in so she and Rinna could respectfully get slammed for the sisterly comparisons.

Lisa Rinna then spun the table back around on Kim Richards for words said about Rinna's husband Harry Hamlin, which got an apology from Richards, who also brought up that she'd apologized for it before. That somehow opened up the door for true forgiveness to bloom, with Rinna being sure to accept Richards' apology before saying she was sorry. For what it's worth, though, Kim Richards drew a pretty good line in the sand as far as this kind of damaging behavior is concerned, so we might not see anything like this again. (Yeah, right.) In her words:

I just can't have my world out there again. As hard as I worked last year, I won't stand back. I am going to stand up for myself. Because sometimes when I have been put in that situation, I have felt like I was going to die. And I get very defensive. I almost felt like it was a death for me --- going through some of the things I went through.

All in all, it was just the kind of confrontation that fans could expect and hope for, with the added bonus of Carnie Wilson hanging out and eating cheesecake.
