The first season of the Will & Grace revival was a huge hit, and now fans are eagerly anticipating what Season 2 has in store for Will, Grace, Jack, and Karen. Well, for those excitedly anticipating a deeper dive into the personal lives of your favorite characters, there is huge news on that front. And it comes courtesy of Debra Messing herself. The actress has revealed that Grace is getting a boyfriend next season. Messing said:

We're going to make you happy, I promise. Things expand this season. We really get into each character's private lives. . . . Grace gets a boyfriend. Boom. That's right. I'm not allowed to tell you who, but you're gonna be so excited.

So that is some pretty big news, and from the sound of things, Will & Grace may have already cast Grace's boyfriend-to-be. Based on Debra Messing teasing that she can't reveal his identity, Grace's new boyfriend may be an actor we all know. Or I'm reading way too much into Messing's monumental comments to ET. Either way, Grace is definitely getting a boyfriend. Let the speculation as to who will be playing him begin!

Whoever he is, Debra Messing seems excited about Grace's new man, which should bode well for fans of the sitcom. Plus, the news that the show will be digging into the more personal aspects of Will & Grace's cache of characters should be pretty exciting for fans awaiting developments on that front. Speaking of personal, how about Grace's family?

Debra Messing has a major casting dream that she would love to come true regarding one of Grace's family members, and she decided to put into the universe, so to speak. The actress revealed who she would like to have play Grace's aunt. Messing said:

I want Barbra Streisand to play Grace's aunt, to play Debbie Reynolds' sister. I'm giving you eyes, Barbra. I mean, come on. You know it's perfect, it's perfect, come play with me! We promise we will make it fun.

That's right, Barbra Streisand. How positively epic would that be? It seems entirely feasible as well. Streisand was a vocal guest star on Modern Family in 2016. So an in-the-flesh guest appearance would not be a far cry from what she has done in the not-so-distant past. Of course, playing Grace's aunt would hopefully be a bit more involved than a vocal cameo.

As Debra Messing mentions, Debbie Reynolds played Grace's mom on the series. Last year, Will & Grace honored the late actress and her character with the episode "One Job." Messing made the push for the episode. If the show ends up casting the role, you can probably count on Grace's aunt sharing a few stories that similarly pay homage to Grace's mom.

Here is hoping Barbra Streisand ends up making her Will & Grace debut. The sitcom is a pop culture staple, and with the revival entering its second season, it is a great time to begin ushering in more all-star guest stars. Will & Grace will return for the second season of its revival run October 4 on NBC. For more fall premiere dates on NBC, click here.
