Emilia Clarke Just Cut Off Her Hair After Game Of Thrones Finished Filming

Let the hair changes continue! The Game of Thrones cast has not been shy about either discussing making changes to their hair or going through with them since the show finished filming. Whether it is Kit Harington discussing a hair makeover or Sophie Turner going platinum blonde -- the matter of hair has been on their mind. In the case of Emilia Clarke, the actress has revealed a whole new look post-Game of Thrones. She is rocking a pixie! See it for yourself below:

In her caption, Emilia Clarke indicates the new hairstyle was inspired by Brad Pitt and Gwyneth Paltrow's matching haircuts from back in the day. Clarke had previously hinted at the hair change. Back in early September, the actress told Harper's Bazaar that her hair was in bad shape, or as she put it "dying." Hence, she had already shortened it. At the time, she acknowledged her affection for wearing it long while also saying that she had long-dreamed of cutting it off for a pixie.

The latter haircut clearly won out. After years of wearing a wig to create Daenerys' long platinum locks, Emilia Clarke opted to turn her hair blonde for the final season of Game of Thrones. While her hair is much shorter now, Clarke still appears to be wearing her hair blonde. With the possibility of reshoots, you can probably not be too careful.

The possibility of having to do them is the reason Emilia Clarke's Game of Thrones co-star, Kit Harington, gave for maintaining his Jon Snow hair despite having already finished initial filming on the final season. While everyone knows that Emilia Clarke will be wearing her hair as Daenerys for Season 8, another question will be whether she wears extensions for the role. Either way, it is going to be neat to see.

Truth be told, it will be pretty exciting to glimpse the first official image of Emilia Clarke wearing her hair as Daenerys in Season 8. For so many years, fans have been used to seeing her wig, so it will be fun to have a change. Clarke's dramatic new cut comes not too long after she debuted three small dragon tattoos on her right wrist as a tribute to her iconic character.

For their part, fans are greatly anticipating learning how the final chapter in Daenerys' story unfolds and whether she will survive it. Thankfully, there are a lot of shows returning and debuting over fall that will help keep fans of the HBO hit busy in the meantime. Find out how Daenerys and the show's numerous other characters stories conclude when Game of Thrones returns for its eighth and final season on HBO, at some point in 2019.
