Baby Yoda Jamming Out To Robert Rodriguez On Guitar Is A Great Way To Close Out 2020

Grogu The Mandalorian Star Wars Disney+

The Mandalorian Season 2 is done and, while there's a wait to be had before Season 3, fans are still loving all the extra reveals and theories to come out of the wonderful sophomore season. The last week has brought a slew of behind-the-scenes content to fans, including one adorable video of director Robert Rodriguez rocking out with Baby Yoda.

Robert Rodriguez, who directed The Mandalorian Season 2's sixth episode, "The Tragedy," can be seen in the video strumming his guitar while sitting on the seeing stone with Grogu. Take a look at the director's Twitter video, which shows The Child bobbing his head as the director plays:

You gotta love the work of puppeteers. The head bobbing was good enough, but isn't it just the best when Grogu is making baby noises? I certainly wasn't expecting that kind of commitment from the puppet master during a moment in which Robert Rodriguez is essentially taking a break between takes and hanging out with his guitar.

For those impressed with Robert Rodriguez's guitar playing, the director has been playing the instrument for some time. Rodriguez founded a band, Chingon, in 2003 for the purpose of writing songs for his film Once Upon A Time In Mexico. The band released an album in 2004 and, since then, songs have appeared in subsequent movies he's directed as well as the films of others like Quentin Tarantino.

It would be great to see Baby Yoda jam out to more music but, unfortunately, based on the ending of The Mandalorian Season 2, it's currently unclear if he will return in any future series. The character went off to train with Luke Skywalker, a development that required a pretty big CGI cameo from Mark Hamill. With Grogu kicking it with an expensive, CGI Luke in some unknown location, one has to wonder if his run in future Star Wars stories will be put on hold for now.

As for Robert Rodriguez, his run in Star Wars has only just begun. The director is on board to be an executive producer for The Book Of Boba Fett, an upcoming spinoff of The Mandalorian that's set to premiere in December 2021. Fans are undoubtedly excited to see Rodriguez in the Star Wars universe, given his contribution to film over the past couple of decades as well as his tremendous directing of "The Tragedy." Hopefully, The Book Of Boba Fett is loaded with many more fight scenes like the one seen in that episode, though I pity the stormtroopers that have to take those beatings.

The Mandalorian Seasons 1 and 2 are currently available to stream on Disney+. Continue to stick with CinemaBlend for all the latest happening with the series, and for more news in the world of television and movies.
