A venue coordinator and possible friend of 90 Day Fiancé's Angela Deem has been arrested for murder and more after a man was killed. Douglas Wooten of Hazlehurst, Georgia, turned himself in to authorities after a warrant was placed out for his arrest for felony murder, home invasion, armed robbery, and cruelty to children in the second degree. The charges are related to the death of a man, who was found shot dead.
According to a police report from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, the Jeff Davis County Sheriff’s Office was called to a home where 54-year-old Marcos Ramirez was found dead with gunshot wounds. Three people were arrested in connection to the crime, and a warrant was issued for Douglas Wooten before he surrendered himself to authorities.
90 Day Fiancé viewers may remember Douglas Wooten as "DJ Doug" on Before The 90 Days Season 3. Wooten was featured as an "events coordinator" at a venue Angela Deem was checking out in Georgia for when Michael Ilesanmi's K1 visa would be approved so they could be married in the United States. Angela ultimately got married in Nigeria in the latest season of Happily Ever After?, though an American ceremony isn't entirely off the table.
After his appearance, a report from Soap Dirt surfaced that "DJ Doug" and Angela Deem may have had a closer connection than 90 Day Fiancé led viewers to believe. The report alleged that DJ Doug wasn't actually the owner of a wedding venue but a drinking buddy of Angela's. Both were allegedly arrested for DUIs after drinking together on back-to-back nights. Douglas Wooten didn't respond to the DUI talk but did address accusations that he lied about who he was on camera on social media.
We can only speculate on how close Douglas Wooten was with Angela Deem, though he does have a video shot from a phone in which he appeared to be hanging out with her back in June of 2020. Wooten's voice can be heard on the video, but given that he's not actually in the video with Angela Deem, it's possible he dubbed his own voice over it to create a meme.
As of writing, Angela has not mentioned the arrest or "DJ Doug" on her social media channels, and I have to doubt the 90 Day Fiancé star will. She's mostly been focused on teasing her massive weight loss and has a brand to cultivate thanks to her being one of the franchise's bigger names. With that being said, Angela Deem is seemingly largely unafraid to open herself up to criticism, so I wouldn't necessarily be surprised if she does address her potential ties with DJ Doug in some way in the future.
