WandaVision's Kathryn Hahn Pokes Fun At Mark Ruffalo For Dropping Marvel Spoilers

Kathryn Hahn as Agnes on WandaVision (2021)

Actors working in the MCU have to really watch what they say in interviews because the slightest slip runs the risk of blowing a reveal that impacts multiple franchises. No one knows that better than Mark Ruffalo, who just recently got playfully roasted again for his infamous Avengers leaks by WandaVision actress Kathryn Hahn.

Kathryn Hahn, who plays the lovable and increasingly mysterious Agnes in WandaVision, spoke to Entertainment Tonight about Marvel's expectation that actors do not reveal even the slightest bit of spoilers about their characters. The actress explained that when she took the role, she decided she was going to do her best to keep secrets and not make the mistakes Mark Ruffalo did way back when:

You know what? I am learning to be a fantastic secret-keeper. It turns out I am really turning out to be a fantastic secret-keeper… I definitely remember when Mark, sweet Ruffalo, didn't he get busted for

? [Laughs] I was like, 'I do not want to pull a Ruffalo! I am really gonna zip it up.'

On the surface, the quote sounds like unnecessary shade towards Mark Ruffalo, though the "sweet" thrown in there certainly softens the blow a bit. The two actors worked on HBO's I Know This Much Is True together, so I would the quote was definitely not meant with any poison on Kathryn Hahn's end. She's just stating a fact and having a bit of fun with her former co-star and fellow MCU alum. And honestly, you'd be hard-pressed to see an actor who wanted to reveal the things Mark Ruffalo has before Marvel wanted him to.

It's fair to say Kathryn Hahn likely couldn't spoil a secret big enough to match Mark Ruffalo spoiling Avengers: Infinity War, but WandaVision fans do believe there's more to her character Agnes than the show is currently making known. Theories have surfaced that suggest the character is actually Marvel witch Agatha Harkness, who is quietly hanging out and looking to possibly take advantage of Wanda's strange reality.

One would assume Kathryn Hahn's role in the MCU wouldn't go that deep, but no one can really know given the interconnectedness of these MCU projects. Some key bits of information she knows about WandaVision could possibly be the crux of the MCU's next two movies, so she's wise to keep on her toes and keep her secrets to herself.

As Marvel continues to further incorporate television into the MCU, the show will only add actors that may or may not have privileged information that can leak out to fans with the wrong comment. So far, most of the secrets of WandaVision have been successfully kept under lock and key, but there are still several weeks of new episodes, which means there's still plenty of time for any actor or actress to spill the beans during an interview. Will the show play out without spoilers, or will someone "pull a Ruffalo" and reveal a secret too soon?
